Cardiopatía Isquémica, depresión y Rehabilitación Cardiaca

Resumen

Para los hombres en la antiguedad y aún a la fecha, el corazón ha sido un centro de atención continua, pero en especial, por su carácter pulsátil permanente. Derivado de esta concepción, desde los inicios de la historia el hombre vislumbró en el estudio del pulso el acercamiento a una situación mágica y emocional. De su índole batiente se desprende la etimología. El vocablo más primitivo que habla del corazón es hrid y corresponde al sanscrito (lengua de los antiguos habitantes de la India, familia indo-europea, 2500 a. C.), el cual pasó a ser fonéticamente krid o kurd, cuyo significado es órgano saltarín, muy cercano a kiruz con que se denomina al ciervo. De ahí evolucionó a kardia (griego), hertz (germano) y cor (latín). En la incipiente medicina técnica, el corazón se consideró el centro de la emoción y de la pasión en la fisiología circulatoria que se prolongó hasta el Renacimiento. La depresión, que aparece de la mano de la cardiopatía isquémica, no es solo una consecuencia, sino factor de causalidad y asociada a complejos fenómenos neurohormonales y sanguíneos, que empeoran el pronóstico de la enfermedad coronaria.
