¿Cómo clasificar las polineuropatías mediante el electrodiagnóstico?

Resumen

Objetivos: evaluar los criterios electrodiagnósticos existentes para clasificar las polineuropatías como axonales, desmielinizantes o mixtas.

Métodos: se consultaron las bases de datos Medline, Cinhal, Scielo y Embasse y los libros de texto de Dimitru, Oh, Kimura, Preston y Tan.

Resultados: para las desmielizantes se encontraron dieciocho criterios diferentes, para la axonales cuatro y para las mixtas dos. Por ser avalados por sociedades científicas, para las desmielinizantes, se escogieron los criterios diagnósticos de la Asociación Americana de Neurologia (AAN) y los del Federación Europea de Sociedades neurológicas/ sociedades de nervio periférico(EFS/PSN). Para las axonales y mixtas se describen los criterios propuestos por diferentes autores.

Conclusiones: el electrodiagnóstico es fundamental para el estudio, evolución y pronóstico de las polineuropatías.
