Abstract

Electrophysiological assessment of patients in which suspected spinal cord diseases (myelopathy, tumors, etc), is confined practically to the use of evoked potentials. The conventional electrophysiological studies (NCV and EMG), not has an important role in the evaluation of these.
However in recent years has emerged a technique called silent period cutaneous, whose obtaining is simple, demand short time and can be done on any electromyography equipment and could be useful in these patients.
It is case report of a patient which underwent this technique and becomes a literature review of this and its usefulness in different spinal conditions and other.
