An observational cross-sectional study was carried out, which evaluated the performance of the cardiac rehabilitation program of the Central Military Hospital of Bogotá, through the application of PERFSCORE to patients with acute myocardial infarction (AMI) who, during 2016, entered they completed Phase II and III of cardiac rehabilitation.
Materials and methods: An observational cross-sectional study that included 183 patients, with a mean age of 68 years, diagnosis of AMI that required percutaneous or surgical management, the sample was observed at admission and 9 months after completing phase III, variables were observed. clinical and paraclinical on admission and discharge that were analyzed by descriptive statistics; Likewise, the PERFSCORE was calculated, which scores the performance of the program at optimum> 28, between 22 and 28 satisfactory or unsatisfactory <22.
Results: 75 patients were met who met the inclusion criteria, within the variables of interest, it was observed that there were changes in favor of satisfactory control of the basic figures of heart rate, blood pressure, LDL levels. Likewise 58 patients corresponding to 77% of the sample obtained a PERFSCORE greater than 28.
Conclusions: The importance of an objective evaluation of the performance of cardiac rehabilitation programs is highlighted as a strategy for monitoring patients and improving programs.
