Organizing and promoting a Latin American Spinal Cord Injury Association

Latin America is a region with a large cultural diversity and with different grades of development in multiple dimensions. The Health System organization of each country reflex different social economic realities. It is a region with an unequal access to a universal and high quality health. The care of people with a Spinal Cord shows this reality. A scientific Latin-American association focused in spinal cord injury has different aims; mainly in educational activities to improves the skills of Rehabilitation professionals, promote health observatories, information systems, and epidemiological data to allow the access at Health Services and the participation of people with Spinal Cord Injury, to be uses as inputs for the development of research projects, better services and public policies nationally and internationally.
